Silke Decker (*1982) was fascinated by ceramics and handcrafts from an early age. After studying industrial design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg, she successfully participated in a number of international ceramics and art competitions. Since 2008, Silke Decker has worked as a freelance designer and ceramicist for manufacturers such as Kähler, Serax, WMF and Philippi. Her works are on display in museums including the Hetjens Museum in Dusseldorf and the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum. She is a member of the German Crafts Association and the Berufsverband angewandte Kunst Hamburg [Hamburg Professional Association of Applied Art], and lives and works in Hamburg.
