Together with his wife, Martin Matschinsky has been creating metal sculptures since 1955. Their mobile, organic naturalistic-looking shapes have surfaces of a fascinating animated quality. A special technique enables them to make sculptures of monumental dimensions, which give the impression of legerity and lifeliness, sometimes even of "floating" - inspite of their sizes. Matschinsky has been working for Rosenthal since 1978. Sculptures such as »Blütenbaum« (50 pieces) and »Herbstwind« (300 pieces) were created in collaboration with Brigitte Matschinsky-Denninghoff.
