Bjørn Wiinblad - An artist between fantasy and tradition
“Imagination is the material of beauty.”
(Bjørn Wiinblad)
Bjørn Wiinblad began his creative career by studying painting and illustration at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He quickly gained recognition in Denmark for his early ceramic artworks, which laid the foundation for his versatile career. Wiinblad, who also designed stage sets and costumes for opera and theater in addition to his pictorial works, created an unmistakable visual language that masterfully combined fantasy and romanticism. He often drew on fairytale motifs, oriental patterns and musical inspirations, which lend his works a special magic and profundity.
