To safeguard your data privacy, plugins are using the Shariff "one-click for-more-data protection solution" software developed by c't and Heise Online. (Source and further information: http://www.heise.de/ct/ausgabe/2014-26-Social-Media-Buttons-datenschutzkonform-nutzen-2463330.html) The Shariff integration allows you to share your favourite web content without compromising your privacy by ensuring that no connection to the Facebook, Google, Twitter and Pinterest servers is produced when visiting a website page containing such plugins. Your browser will only make a direct connection to the servers of Facebook, Google, Twitter and Pinterest if you actively click on a Share button, thereby giving your deliberate consent to the transmission of personal data. The contents of the respective plugin are then transmitted directly to your browser and linked to the page by the appropriate provider. By linking the plugin, the providers obtain the information that your browser has called up the appropriate page of our website. If you are logged into one of the social networks, the providers are immediately able to correlate the visit to our website with your profile on the social network. If you interact with the plugins, e.g. by clicking the “Like”, the “+1”, the “Pin it” or “Twitter” button, the relevant information is also immediately transmitted directly to one of the providers’ servers and stored there. The information is also published in the social network or your Twitter account and shown to your contacts there. To learn more about the purpose and extent of data collection by the providers as well as your relevant rights and setting options to protect your privacy, please refer to the providers’ data protection information.
