Golden times at Sambonet
Discover the world of Sambonet
Sambonet
Since 1856, Sambonet has stood for Italian excellence in the manufacture of cutlery and dinnerware made of stainless steel and silver-plated steel. In 1938, Sambonet was the first company to begin manufacturing cutlery made of stainless steel, and refined the technique for silver-plating steel. In 1950 and 1960, leading designers like Roberto Sambonet and Anna Castelli Ferrieri designed innovative collections that elevated the brand to international fame. In 2006, Sambonet was awarded the prize for excellence in innovation and technology by the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
From the more classic models to contemporary designs recognised with major awards like the Compasso D’Oro ADI, Red Dot and GOOD Design Award, Sambonet combines tradition and innovation, while preserving the quality and craftsmanship of the fine details.
Modernity has always been of importance at Sambonet. Design and function are the cornerstones of the company, and its product lines are continually being adapted to the modern lifestyle. When it comes to cutlery in particular, the Sambonet range – ranging from luxury models made of nickel silver to the latest trendy designs – is one of the biggest on the market and is fine-tuned to the requirements of the target group.
The establishment of the “Sambonet Project Center” has enabled Sambonet to create synergies in the design industry and utilise them for the development of its products. Sambonet offers Italian design with Italian quality – made in Italy.
PVD refinement of cutlery
Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) is an environmentally friendly coating technique, which functions by evaporating a source metal inside a vacuum chamber. This special treatment causes the steel to harden and optimises its resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Sambonet ensures the quality and safety of its products by performing leaching tests to ensure that the materials are food safe. Thanks to the PVD process, Sambonet offers many cutlery ranges in the classic silver look, as well as trendy colours like copper, gold, champagne and black.
Vintage Finish
The Vintage Finish by Sambonet is an elegant and intentional “used effect”, which complements both romantic “shabby chic” looks and Scandinavian-inspired living concepts. The design and quality of the new range of charmingly nostalgic Sambonet products, such as cutlery and cooking pots with a vintage finish, are in high regard among renowned interior architects and international designers.
