Yang

Yang (Sharon Yodjaja), was born in 1953 in Bandung, Indonesia and now lives in Berlin. Following his studies at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, he began work as a fashion and textile designer. He also made a name for himself as the co-founder of the design team for textiles “1 2 3 4 5 6”. His works are an attempt to create something with the help of poetry, fantasy and ingeniousness. The originality of his designs has received recognition with the German “Gute Form” Prize for 1985/86 and with other renowned design awards.

Yang has been working for Rosenthal since 1993. He has created a number of successful decorative pieces for the studio-line, and has also designed porcelain jewellery and a decorative clock.
