Summer in The Mug+

'Hot town, Summer in the city...' 𝄞 Joe Cocker sang this song back in 1994. Three decades later, we are playing his hit again – this time in a culinary way, thanks to our The Mug+ and celebrating ‘Summer in The Mug+’. Sunglasses, a deckchair and an ice-cold drink – what more could you want? Unfortunately, it only takes a few minutes for the ice cube to stop doing what it's supposed to and melt faster than you can drink. That's when you need a mug that's made for just that purpose and keeps things cool for longer: the new The Mug+ by Rosenthal. How do you refresh yourself in summer? We have a few ice-cold ideas for you.

Iced Hibiskus Latte

1-2 tsp organic hibiscus flowers

500 ml water

500 ml milk/plant-based milk alternative

Some organic hibiscus flowers (for garnish)

A little honey

Ice cubes

Optional: 1 dash of orange juice/some lemon zest

To make the iced hibiscus latte, boil the water with the hibiscus flowers and leave the flowers to infuse at 100 °C for ten minutes, then strain the flowers and leave the tea to cool. Froth the milk until cold and pour into four mugs. Sweeten to taste, optionally refine with orange juice or lemon zest, then pour in the tea and ice cubes and serve the drink cold, sprinkled with hibiscus flowers.

Watermelon Freeze & Cold Brew

Watermelon is an absolute summer favourite. Fresh watermelon is a perfect summer snack in itself, but if you freeze it, it also makes an excellent base for a summer drink.

500 g watermelon

30-60 ml cold brewed coffee

Orange slices to garnish

Freeze the sliced watermelon overnight.

Chop the watermelon with a larger or electric chopper (you can add some sugar if the watermelon is not sweet enough).

Fill the Mug+ with crushed watermelon.

Decorate with orange slices.

Pour 30 ml of cold brewed coffee over the top.
