Serpents, birdcatchers, princes and Queens of the Night: Bjørn Wiinblad has translated Mozart’s opera “The Magic Flute” into a porcelain collection. Detailed and lovingly crafted figures, flowers, plants and ornaments adorn the surface of the precious porcelain – in the form of unglazed reliefs. Entire scenes are depicted on the very wide plate rims, whereby the designer has brought his experience as a stage and costume designer into his design. Magic flute uses an extremely thin and lightweight material, an exciting mix of matte and shiny surfaces and a sharply drawn, fine relief.
