Nikolaus Störtenbecker, as a painter, contributed to promoting the style of realism in German painting in the 60s and 70s of the 20th century. Themes of landscape and nature play the most prominent role in his works. In 1965 he was co-founder of the group Zebra. In 1985 Störtenbecker created for Rosenthal studio-line the "heavenly" décor »Animi Diei« on the shape »Duo«.
