Rosenthal designer

Walter Schott

*1861 - †1938

Walter Schott was a sculptor. He is an important representative of the new- baroque Berliner Bildhauerschule. The new-baroque style had its heydays under Wilhelm II. When Wilhelm abdicated and went into exile this style was rejected, the artists of what we now call classic Modernity became accepted. In 1913 Schott created for Rosenthal the well-known figurine »Faun mit Nymphen«.
