Rosenthal designer

Ettore Sottsass

ITA

*1917 - †2007

Ettore Sottsass was one of the greatest Italian designers of the 20th century. His early works excel by cool, functional industrial design. He founded the Milan design group "Memphis" and became the humourous magician, whose furniture and lamps, vases and glasses defies the dogma of good functional shape for the everyday use. Sottsass has been working for Rosenthal in 1997. He designed several objects and décors for the EGIZA collection "Handle with care".
