Rosenthal designer

Saint Phalle, Niki de

*1930 - †2002

Nike de Saint Phalle is an acknowledged paintress and member of the "Nouveau Réalistes". Her "Nanas" - bulky huge females - made her famous all over the world. Together with them she escapes into the world of fantasy and mythology, as if she wanted to seek refuge over there: "Paradise is a Nana, who gleefully dances in the jungle - I am the Nana ...". In 1973 Saint Phalle created for the Rosenthal limited art edition the object »Nana« (200 pieces).
