Hugo Meisel


*1887 - †1966

Hugo Meisel was a sculptor and porcelain sculptor. His figures are marked by a restraining naturalism. He was head of the Staatliches Museum Heidecksburg from 1950 to 1959. Meisel worked for Rosenthal from 1936 to 1937. He created the famous "Mohren" figurines as well as »Vogel flieg« (bird flies) and »Pfeifer« (piper).
