Wilhelm Loth is one of the most distinguished representatives of the "Karlsruher Neuen Figuration" and one of the most interesting sculptors of the second half of the 20th century. In his works he picks out the idea of contemporary man as central theme but unlike any other artist his works almost exclusively deal with the female body, conveying his interest in the human body as a subject for the arts. In 1967 Loth created the relief »in memoriam Käthe Kollwitz« (100 pieces) for the Rosenthal limited art series.
