Ernst Fuchs

AUT

*1930

Ernst Fuchs is one of the best-known representatives of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. His paintings show professional craftsmanship and his techniques of the Old Masters give an effect of alienation. His themes are mostly mythological or biblical. Fuchs has been working for Rosenthal since 1978. The limited art edition includes his »Greif und Schlange« (100 pieces), »Phönix« (50 pieces), the service object »Zaubersee« (500 pieces) as well as the relief »Adam und Eva« (49 pieces) in the series "Hommage à Philip Rosenthal". He also designed the pattern »Akanthus« for the Rosenthal tile collection, produced under licence at the Deutsche Steinzeug.
