Cuno Fischer

Cuno Fisher was a painter, graphic designer, set designer, journalist and publicist. He worked for several theaters and the Ufa in Berlin after World War II. His textile- and wallpaper designs defined the style of the 50s. His paintings, especially his glass paintings, which are characterised by a strong colourfulness, and his considerable graphic works feature an "abstracting concreteness" and an almost religiously centered symbolism. Fischer worked for Rosenthal from 1961 to 1972. For Rosenthal studio-line he designed several successful patterns and also relief bowls and vases as well as a chess game made of ceramics.
