"Meandre D´Or" is the name of the service decor on the form "Ikarus Medaillon" by Paul Wunderlich. He impressivly proves the Versaces skill, to contemporarily interprete classy elegance and decorate porcelain in his distinctive signature. In the foreground, "Meandre D´Or"presents the head of Medusa as the only decorative element. With a first-class relief technique a plastic impression is conveyed; the head of the Medusa stands out from the surface and shimmers in an elegant gold tone. The gold décor is exclusively manually applied with a unique craftmanship.
Paul Wunderlich is an internationally known graphic designer and object artist. His works are characterised by magic and mysticism and use precious materials such as noble metals, ivory and porcelain.
Wunderlich has been working for Rosenthal since 1978. His porcelain forms »Mythos« and »Idillio« are reminiscences of the airiness of porcelain, of its shining transparency in interplay with light.
For the limited art edition Wunderlich created the objects »Anubis« (100 pices), »Elipsoid« (150 pieces) and »Vagant« (50 pieces) as well as in 2003 complimenting the collection "Hommage | Philip Rosenthal" the relief »Torso für Philip Rosenthal« (49).

With this décor the colours are burnt onto the glaze at a mini-mum temperature of at least 750 degrees C. The use of robust colours achieves such a strong lesion with the glaze that the dishwasher is most unlikely to do any damage to the décor. Dishwasher tests in the Rosenthal Institute for material technology (IWT) have proved the excellent durability of the décor. The service can be washed in the dishwasher economy cycle (55 degrees C). Please pay particular attention to the instructions of the dishwasher and detergent manufacturers on the suitability of the their products.
