Personal Data necessary for shopping

In the course of shopping in our online shop we collect several personal information from you (surname, name, date of birth, postal address and bank account or credit card data). We will process and use your personal data for the purposes of the completion and execution of contracts, i.e. to process your order and payment and to deliver ordered goods. Your e-mail-address will also be used to inform you about the purchase order status.

Consents, you may have given us explicitly

As far as you have given us your active and explicit consent, we also use your e-mail-adress to send you a newsletter with our offers, sales promotions and prize draws on a regular basis. You may any time withdraw your consent by using the unsubscribe link set at the end of every newsletter with effect for the future. If applicable, the wording of this consent is as follows:

With our Rosenthal online shop newsletter we will  inform you about our offers and sales promotions and you can also participate in attractive prize draws. You may any time withdraw your consent in using your registered e-mail-address for such purposes by using the link “unsubscribe newsletter” set at the end of every newsletter with effect for the future.
 Order newsletter

Subject to your further explicit consent we use all collected personal data to register you as a Rosenthal customer for potential visits or shopping in our online shop in the future, so you do not have to re-enter these data necessary for the conclusion and execution of contracts for every additional order and you can review purchases made at any time within your customer account. If applicable, the wording of this consent is as follows:

Please tick this box if you want to create a customer account with us. Thus you do not have to re-enter your data for your next orders. We DO NOT store your credit card data.

Logging and withdrawal of your consents

Your explicitly given consents will be logged. You may any time withdraw your consent with effect for the future by sending us a simple message.

Use of your data for conclusion and execution of contracts

As far as you have not given us your specific consent we do not use your data for purposes other than for the conclusion and execution of  contracts between you and Rosenthal. Only to the extent that is necessary for these purposes we also provide instructed companies, entrusted with the receipt and execution of your order, with your data. That is in detail:

Hatraco Hamburg Trading Company GmbH, Peutestraße 53, D-20539 Hamburg, providing the online shop on our behalf and processing your orders, payments, enquiries, complaints and returns; DHL Vertriebs GmbH & Co. OHG, Charles-de-Gaulle-Straße 20, D-53113 Bonn for shipping and pickup of goods; the bank/credit institution entrusted with payment in each case; PAYONE GmbH & Co. KG, Fraunhoferstraße 2-4, 24118 Kiel, for execution of a credit card payment; Payment Network AG, Fußbergstraße  1, D-82131 Gauting, for execution of an instant bank transfer (“Sofortüberweisung”) and the payment service PayPal (Europe) S.á.r.l. & Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg.

In these cases upon complete execution of each contract your data will be blocked for further use and deleted on expiry of the statutory periods of retention.

Use of data for contacts

If you want to send us a message by using the we collect your name and your e-mail-address to answer your request. Subsequently the data stored for this purpose will be deleted inasmuch as you have not provided us with your consent in their storage and use for other purposes mentioned in this data protection policy.

Log-files on the visit of our website

Each time you visit our website or download a file log-files, such as IP address, date and time, browsed web page, name of downloaded file, browser version in use, operating system software and the previous website you visited, will be temporarily stored. These data will only be analysed for statistic purposes and to improve our offer. They do not allow any conclusion as to your identity and are deleted subsequently.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files which are sent from our webserver to your browser to be stored on the hard disc of your computer. They are used to recognise your computer automatically at your next visit of our website and to ease the navigation. You can arrange the settings of your internet browser to inform you of any cookies stored, so that you can decide in every single case whether you wish to accept the cookies or generally wish to reject all cookies or wish all cookies to be deleted upon closing of your browser. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”).  Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the USA. Yet in the event of activation of IP-anonymisation on this website, within the EU member states or within other signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area your IP address will be shortened by Google prior to transmission.  Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transmitted to a server in the USA and will be shortened there.

On behalf of Rosenthal Google will use the generated information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing Rosenthal with other services relating to website activity and internet usage.  Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

Data Security

Personal data we collect will be transmitted to us via a secured SSL connection (“Secure-Socket-Layer”) in 128-Bit-encrypted form in order to protect them from unauthorized access. Moreover we take additional technical and organisational security measures to prevent your data from loss, destruction or abuse. In particular no access to your customer account is possible without entering your personal password. You can contribute to the protection of your data by selecting a password that is difficult to reconstruct e.g. a combination of letters, digits, and symbols and by keeping it strictly confidential.

Right of access to your personal data 

According to section 34 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) you have a right to access your personal data we have stored at any time. If required, please contact the controller mentioned below.
